...exploring how people shape the world's forests

Bolivia

Bolivia was one of the first three CRCs established in 1993, along with Nepal and Uganda. Rosario Leon, Center for the Study of Economic and Social Reality (CERES), has coordinated teams of IFRI researchers from CERES and PROMETA. Most IFRI research in Bolivia focuses on the Yuracare Indians. In addition to research, IFRI helped develop a new legal framework to better protect the rights of indigenous people to natural resources.
