Common Property Water Resources: Dependence and Institutions in India’s Villages

The study indicates that property rights on water as a common property resource is crucial in inducing collective action for management and conservation. It shows that there is competition between big and small farmers over the use of this CPR which apparently excludes social minorities, landless laborers, and women from its management.
